Fairholmes Farm, Derwent

An early postcard which shows Fairholmes Farm in the 1920s to 1930s, Derwent in the foreground.

Views of Fairholmes when it was a working farm are rare as now the neatly set out fields and the farm are beneath the waters of Ladybower reservoir.When the waters are low during drought the only thing that remains is a gate post.

In the centre of the postcard is Derwent Dam wall with the newly built damkeepers house to the right and towards the top of the card Howden Dam wall can be seen.

The mass of trees above Fairholmes Farm is now the Fairholmes car park.
