School Lane Bridge, Hope
The church is fourteenth-century and one interesting fact is that it has two fonts, one of which dates from 1662 and was salvaged from Derwent church before it was demolished to make way for Ladybower reservoir in March 1943. We visited the site of Derwnt village in early 2004 and took some photos of the remains of Derwent Church. If you click here, you can see them. The road past the village and the railway through the village continues on up the valley to Edale. |
