School Lane Bridge, Hope

This beautiful little village sits close to the Kinder plateau, one of our favourite places in the whole of the high peak.

The church is fourteenth-century and one interesting fact is that it has two fonts, one of which dates from 1662 and was salvaged from Derwent church before it was demolished to make way for Ladybower reservoir in March 1943.

We visited the site of Derwnt village in early 2004 and took some photos of the remains of Derwent Church.
