Bolsover Castle. Castle Street, Bolsover (Tel: 01246 822844) An English Heritage property. Marvel at the outstanding craftsmanship, the rich panelling, elaborate fireplaces and painted ceilings. Outside, enjoy the most glorious enclosed garden - an outdoor 'room', furnished with love-seats and statuary, all overseen by Venus on her fountain, recently restored to its 17th century glory. Open daily from 10am-6pm (last admission 5.30pm). Admission charged.
