Chatsworth House. Nr Bakewell. (Tel: 01246 565300) Chatsworth, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, is one of the treasure houses of England, set in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District. Visitors see 26 richly decorated rooms, the 105 acre garden with fountains and a maze. Also farmyard and adventure playground. Open daily: House -11am-5.30pm (last admission 4.30pm); Garden -11am-6pm (last admission 5pm); Farmyard and adventure playground -10.30am- 5.30pm (last admission 4.30pm). Admission charged.

Chatsworth Farm Shop. Pilsley, (Tel: 01246 583392) Open Monday-Saturday 9am-5.30pm, Sunday 11am-5pm.

Hob Hurst's House. Nr Beeley. A square prehistoric burial chamber with an earthwork ditch and outer bank.
