Padley Chapel, Gatehouse and Martyrs shrine. Upper Padley, Grindleford (Tel: 01433 651048) Early 14th Century Gatehouse, home of the Padley, Eyre, Fitzherbert Family. Scene of arrest of recusant John Fitzherbert along with two priests Nicholas Garlick and Robert Ludlam, 12 July 1588. Open on Wednesdays and Sundays 2pm-4pm. Groups by special arrangement.
